Overview
In ROTG version 4.1.0, we are introducing the ability to manage your company's schedule via Rapid On The Go! This article will describe what the new behavior is and how you can use it to support your operations.
New Gestures
In this release, we have introduced a new gesture, called "tap & hold". This gesture is typically used to "edit" a field or a job.
- When you tap & hold on a job, you will be shown the Edit Job page. See below for more information on this new page.
- When you tap & hold on a field on the Job Details page, you will be prompted to edit the field. See below for more information on the new Job Details behavior.
- When you tap & hold on the icon of the Job tabs that you are currently using, the data on that page will refresh.
Scheduled Jobs tab
What is the Scheduled Jobs tab used for?
The Scheduled Jobs tab is your ability to see all currently scheduled jobs for your Company. This tab enables on the go employees to find, edit, and create jobs on your schedule.
Permissions
The ability to view this tab in ROTG is controlled by the Jobs permission row in ERP (Navigate to Company->Users).
- To see this tab, the user must have the Jobs > Central Access user permission enabled.
- To be able to create and edit jobs, the user must have the Jobs > Write user permission enabled.
Once permissions have been checked this functionality needs to be enabled by ticking the Enable Scheduled Jobs Screen box in Company > MyCompany > On The Go! Settings.
Navigating the Scheduled Jobs Tab
1. Filters
When the tab is first loaded, the current week's view will be presented. This can be controlled with the Time Period filter at the top. You will see all jobs scheduled during this period and you can use the other filters to select jobs that meet specific criteria. For example, using the Crew filter, you can find jobs that have specific crew members, or no crew members. You can use the Equipment filter to see jobs that have specific trucks assigned, or no trucks assigned.
If your filter combination does not match with any jobs, we will show you an error message that says "There are currently no scheduled jobs that meet the filter criteria. You may need to update your filter to find scheduled jobs."
2. View or Edit Jobs
Tapping on a job, will show the Job Details page. From this page, you will be able to edit details of the job including, Job Time, Equipment Unit ID, Crew, PO#, etc.
Tapping and holding on job, will open the Edit Job page. From this Page, you will be able to edit the details of the job, and can add Dispatch Notes.
3. Create New Jobs
- Tapping the orange circle with a + sign brings up the Add Job page. Use this page to add new jobs to the schedule and fill in critical information, such as Customer, Date and Time.
- We support creating jobs without a jobsite.
How The Filters Work
Time Period
The Time Period filter is a simple, single-select filter. Once an option is selected, the filter will close and the screen will update to reflect that selected time period.
Crew and Equipment
The Crew and Equipment filters are multi-select filters. Clicking on the filter will give the option to select multiple options to the filter. Once all options have been selected, press the Select button in the bottom right corner. This will return the screen back to the Scheduled Jobs tab with the currently selected filter applied. To clear a filter, use the Clear button which will return the screen back to the Scheduled Jobs tab.
Adding a Job
This page has a new look. Information is now streamlined to group information based on its probability of being known when scheduling a job.
Note that if the jobsite being used for a new job has a default PO# assigned to it, the value will not be shown until the job is created. If the default PO# is overridden by a new one, the one used to override will be applied to the job. The same behavior applies to the RMX / Disposal Site field.
Editing a Job
This page matches the look and feel of the Add Job page. Use this for a more streamlined view when editing the details of a job.
Editing Job Details
This page has some changed functionality from previous versions. First, any field where there is permission to edit will be shown with a pencil icon next to it. To edit this detail, use the same tap & hold behavior described above for editing a job. This will prompt with the option to Edit or Cancel. There are two other icons that may be visible, a phone and a map pin. Tapping these job details will give the ability to either call the phone number or route to the location.
