Overview
Creating a new user in the system for an employee involves a strategic process beyond establishing login credentials. This comprehensive approach includes defining permissions and assigning an ERP license. Administrators carefully tailor permissions to align with the employee's role, fostering a secure operational environment. The system's administrative interface becomes the focal point for configuring access permissions, ensuring an efficient and controlled user environment.
Benefits
By integrating personal and professional details, the system ensures a comprehensive employee profile, facilitating better organizational understanding and management. The allocation of licenses ensures that each user has access to the features and functionalities essential for their role. This tailored approach enhances productivity and ensures that employees have the necessary tools for their tasks.
Steps
Add an employee
- Navigate to Human Resources – Employee.
- An employee can be added by either clicking on Employee in the top left corner of the page, or by right clicking anywhere on the grid.
- In the next window, enter as much information as needed for the company’s records. However, the least required fields in order to create the employee file are: "Type", "Last Name", "First Name", and "Stationed At".
Note
Once the required information is saved, the greyed-out fields become editable (i.e. phone numbers, email, etc.)
Add a user and allow permissions
- Navigate to Company – Users.
- A user can be added by either clicking on User in the top left corner of the page, or by right clicking anywhere on the grid.
- In the new window, find the employee.
- Create a username and a password.
- Check the Force New Password checkbox for the user to create their own password when they log in for the first time.
- Check the Allow login access to Rapid ERP to give access to the system once a license in assigned.
Note
From this window, the administrator can allow login access to the mobile application Rapid On The Go! or suspend the user.
- Next, the administrator can assign the necessary permissions based on the employee’s role by marking the corresponding checkboxes. For more information on what each permissions allows, visit: https://support.rapidappsinc.com/hc/en-us/articles/19200962526875-User-Permissions#Jobs
