Percentage Surcharge
For each pricing scheme, a surcharge can be set up and its description customized for how it appears on the invoice. For example, the surcharge description may display as Fuel Surcharge on the invoice.
Updating the surcharge on multiple pricing schemes at once
If multiple pricing schemes are in use and a uniform surcharge rate is required across all of them—with the ability to update the percentage in one place—the surcharge percentage must first be configured within the pricing scheme. The Allow Master Update option should then be selected and the pricing scheme saved.
Once this option is enabled, the surcharge value can be updated for all pricing schemes that have Allow Master Update selected by navigating to:
Company → My Company → Advanced Defaults
Fixed Dollar Amount
To apply a surcharge as a fixed dollar amount, an Invoice Line Item must be created.
To create an invoice line item:
- Click the orange RW button in the top-left corner of Rapid ERP.
- Select Accounting Objects.
- Choose Invoice Line Items.
Configure the line item options as needed:
- Taxable – When selected, tax will be applied to the surcharge.
- Apply to all invoices – When selected, the line item will automatically be added to all invoices. It can still be removed from individual invoices if not required.
- Add to Invoice Minimum – When selected, the surcharge will be added on top of the invoice minimum amount, if one is configured.
