The integration between Rapid Fleet and DVIRs completed in ROTG (Rapid On The Go!) or ERP ensures that equipment defects are tracked, addressed, and resolved through a connected workflow. This reduces the risk of unsafe equipment being scheduled, keeps maintenance records centralized, and helps mechanics and operators stay aligned.
When a DVIR is completed and contains defects, the system automatically creates a work order in Rapid Fleet. This allows shop mechanics to address issues without manual data entry and ensures that the status of equipment is accurately reflected across ROTG, ERP, and Rapid Fleet.
Key Benefits
- Safety Compliance: Equipment flagged as unsafe is automatically placed out of service until repairs are signed off.
- Efficiency: Work orders are created automatically from DVIRs or maintenance requests, eliminating duplicate data entry.
- Visibility: Updates flow back to ROTG and ERP so that operators and dispatchers know when equipment is ready.
- Seamless Workflow: Mechanics continue using Rapid Fleet as their central tool for repair management.
Work Order Creation from DVIRs
- When a DVIR is placed in any status and includes a defect, a work order is automatically created in Rapid Fleet with all relevant details.
- In ROTG, completing a DVIR with defects triggers the work order creation.
- In ERP, creating a new maintenance request generates the work order in Rapid Fleet.
Handling Unsafe vs. Safe Equipment
- If the DVIR marks the equipment as unsafe to operate, the work order creation automatically places the equipment out of service in ERP/ROTG. This prevents scheduling until the repair is completed and signed off.
- If the DVIR marks the equipment as safe to operate, the work order creation does not place the equipment out of service automatically. The equipment can still be manually placed out of service later in either Rapid Fleet or ERP if needed.
Shop Workflow in Rapid Fleet
- Mechanics manage and complete work orders through their normal Rapid Fleet workflow.
- When a work order is marked as Work Completed, Rapid Fleet sends a status update (if applicable) back to ERP/ROTG, confirming the repair.
Certification of Repairs
- In the Out of Service case, the repair must still be certified in ROTG as part of the existing process.
- In the In Service case, the DVIR is already certified, so no additional steps are required in ERP/ROTG.
