Overview
The GPS Multi-Stop Jobs feature enhances job tracking by automatically calculating on-job and transit times across multiple stops. This new feature eliminates manual tracking, ensuring greater accuracy in payroll and invoicing processes. By capturing job-related stops and on-job hours, you can improve efficiency and billing accuracy while reducing administrative burdens.
Using Multi-Stop Jobs
1. Job Start & Initial Geofencing
-
The system determines from the GPS unit on the vehicle that the vehicle has left the geofenced coordinates of the yard.
-
Upon arrival at the primary job site, geofencing transitions the job to a status of On- Job.
2. Multi-Stop Job Tracking
-
Operators may need to stop at additional locations (e.g., disposal sites, water refilling stations) before returning to the yard. Now, all interim stops are counted as on-job activities.
3. On-Job & Travel Time Calculation
-
The system considers all job-related stops as on-job time.
-
Travel time is now accurately recorded on the job ticket.
-
If an operator forgets to mark a stop, the system will prompt them to confirm their job completion time.
4. Job Completion & Return to Base
-
Once all on-job activities are finished, the operator marks the on-job activities as complete by pressing the Cleared button.
-
Upon returning to the yard, the system geofences the vehicle and finalizes the job status as Back at Base.
Integration with Dispatch in Rapid ERP
-
Auto-sync and job ticket updates: If auto-sync is enabled, status changes are automatically reflected on job tickets.
-
Status logging: All job status changes are logged for auditability.
-
Preconditions for activation:
-
Both auto-sync and auto-fill ticket times on status change must be enabled.
-
GPS tracking must be active for on-job and returning conditions.
-
Users must have a job time entered to ensure accurate GPS tracking ensues on the job
User Actions & Best Practices
- Confirm stops with the cleared button: Operators should manually confirm on-job activity completion to prevent misclassified travel times.
- Enable auto-sync: Ensures that job tickets and ERP records are always current.
Monitor geofencing accuracy: Ensure job site locations and vehicle tracking are correctly configured for seamless operation.
Please note: This feature needs to be opted into for existing customers and is enabled by default for new customers as of March 25th, 2025. Settings will not be altered unless explicitly enabled or requested by the customer.
