An accurate Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) is an important part of your business. They allow you to keep your vehicles in good condition, ensure road safety, comply with regulations, and identify potential safety issues. To ensure you have a DVIR that fits your needs, personalized templates can be created in RapidWorks for your operators to use to capture any defects in the vehicle.
How It Works: In RapidWorks, the DVIR functions to capture any defects. That is, if something is identified as a defect, this should be marked on the DVIR checklist. Operators can choose what the defect is based on your needs, as well as enter a comment with additional details. However, if there is no defect, the operator does not have to fill anything in on the checklist for that item and the item is assumed to have passed inspection.
- After logging into the ERP desktop application, navigate to the RW icon in the top left corner of the screen and select ‘DVIR Templates’.
- If you are creating a new template, it is recommended to make a copy of the ‘System Default’ template by highlighting it and selecting ‘Clone’. If you are editing an existing template, just double click on the template.
- From this window, rename the template at the top name field and adjust the category names as needed. The categories are the different areas that operators should be reviewing (ex. Tires, Brakes, Lights, etc.).
- On the left of each category, there is a small (+). Selecting this will open the list of Checklist Items. Adjust the names of the checklist items or add additional items as needed. You can also remove a checklist item or an entire category by selecting the red (X) on the right hand side.
- Once finished editing or creating the template, select Save.
